United to Remain

The Liberal Democrats are delighted to announce that the party, as part of Unite to Remain, has made an arrangement with The Green Party and Plaid Cymru to step aside for pro-Remain candidates in 60 seats across England and Wales.

By making this arrangement with other pro-European parties, the Liberal Democrats are showing that we will put the national interest above party politics, to deliver Remain. The Liberal Democrats will stand aside, so that there is a clear pro-Remain candidate in 13 constituencies, in turn, in 43 constituencies other parties will stand aside for a Liberal Democrat candidate

Jo Swinson's Plan for Britain

Jo Swinson has launched the Liberal Democrats' Plan for a Brighter Future. Jo will start her nationwide tour today and details of the plan will be delivered to millions of people across the UK by mail and online.

The plan outlines the party's key priority to Stop Brexit and sets out a bold vision on how to build a fairer, brighter future for the country. It is a plan to tackle inequalities, confront the climate emergency and give everyone the opportunities they need to succeed.

The old politics has failed. For too many people, working hard and playing by the rules is not enough to guarantee a happy, fulfilling and secure life for them and their children.

A Liberal Democrat government will create a shared vision for the country we want to be, where every single person and community is valued, empowered and cared for, and where we protect our planet for future generations.

A Liberal Democrat government will revoke Article 50 on day one, work to keep our family of nations together and build a brighter future.

Citizen's Rights in the Queen's Speech

“It’s far too little and it’s far too late” was the message from the Liberal Democrats in Europe when they heard about the government’s commitments to European citizens announced in the Queen’s speech. It’s not just about EU citizens living in the UK, it’s also about UK citizens living in Europe. That’s not the message that was given during the campaign by many now in government who promised that EU citizens’ rights would be protected.
