Nobody Voted For This

Boris Johnson knows that two-thirds of MPs and two-thirds of the public do not want to see Britain crash out of the EU without a deal.

He knows a no-deal Brexit would cause shortages of food and medicine. He knows no one voted for this kind of self-inflicted disaster.

A guest post by Jo Swinson, leader of the Liberal Democrats.

It seems Boris Johnson will stop at nothing to implement his anti-democratic shutdown of parliament and force a disastrous No Deal on the British people. Today, the Liberal Democrats continue to work with other parties on emergency legislation to stop this authoritarian power grab.

As Leader of the Liberal Democrats, I want to say loud and clear: We will not allow Boris Johnson’s disregard for our democracy to overrule our dedication to the British people.

The Liberal Democrats will stand up for the British people and do our job to protect this country against Boris Johnson’s dangerous plot.

This is a clear and urgent moment in our country’s history, and it’s not the first time that the Liberal Democrats have been needed to stand up for our fundamental democratic rights.

It's time to take action. We need your help. Here's 3 things you can do right now.

Boris Johnson is unilaterally threatening our country’s future to satisfy his own personal no-deal Brexit vision. He is not fit to be Prime Minister. Will you join our campaign to sack Boris Johnson?
