On the BBC Marr Programme, Andrea Leadsom, who is the leader of the House of Commons, stated that it would be a betrayal of the 2016 referendum result to hold a peoples' or confirmatory vote on the withdrawal agreement. We disagree

The response came during one of Andrew Marr's classic interviews and after other Cabinet Ministers as well as members of the Labour Shadow Cabinet had supported the idea of a confirmatory vote.

“We had a people's vote in 2016 and we have to do what we were told to do”

The Liberal Democrats are clear - we think it is important that the final agreement is put to British citizens and UK residents to see if this is the agreement that is wanted.
