Citizens living abroad

Are you a British citizen living abroad with links to our area? Liberal Democrats are here to help you.

Liberal Democrats are proud supporters of the rights of citizens living abroad.

At the general election on July 4th, over 2 million more British citizens who live abroad will be eligible to vote. Citizens who have lived abroad more than 15 years or never voted when living in the UK, will be able to vote, after our years of campaigning paid off.

Voting rights restored - DEADLINE 18th JUNE

Register immediately, don't leave until the 18th June deadline. Voting rights are based on the last place of residence in the UK.

Make your vote count - DEADLINE 19th JUNE

A postal proxy vote is the best way to make your vote count and avoid global postal system delays. Your proxy can live anywhere in the UK, not just in our constituency, as they can vote by post. The postal proxy application deadline is 19th June though, so don't delay. The deadline for appointing a proxy is 26th June.
